A 'Heartwarming' song from Minnesota

Admitted, we shouldn't be complaining about the rather cold winter in The Netherlands.
Minnesotans are much worse off. So that's where this heartwarming song was produced.

Enjoy.

We are so now globally warmed, we are toast.

Yes, it's winter!

I hope you're enjoying this winter, Dale.

I think I'll stop protesting now. I have the impression my little voice of dissent doesn't make enough difference.
What goes on in the world is a matter of large numbers. The majority now is convinced that the world is warming up dangerously. So be it.

I will keep reading though, and the growing number of those who think it is all a hopeless exaggeration gives me hope that the tide will be turned.

Meanwhile I think I'd better concentrate on what seems to be going alright: photography.

I do agree with you, Koos, with regards to the global warming conspiracy...

How do we resist becoming a member of the sheep herd?

Koos F said...

Simply by not subscribing, I think. Isn't the word 'sheeple' a beautiful find?

Maybe it's not worth bothering anyway. Remember the Acid Rain and the Ozone Layer.
It seems our next Global Problem will be Lack Of Oxyxen.
Why don't we start that one ourselves? Would be the end of our personal Credit Crunch.

If I had a million dollars...

We'll need to earn those dollars first. So here is the plan: we convince the world that there will be a deathly lack of oxygen unless they pay us to plant trees in the Amazon area.
Golden business, I'd say.
U&me partners (in business)?
Anyone else join in?

This is wonderful Koos. I needed a laugh. I've only just caught up on your last few posts too, and regret I didn't see them in a more timely manner.

Warming schwarming, this is a world of extremes, and some places are subject to greater extremes than others. Now I'm not anti-The Global Warming Theory, but nor am I an eejit. I do not attribute the fact that we have recently had temperatures of up to 47degrees (that's Celsius Koos, not Fahrenheit, whose equivalent would be about 116), with global warming. We had them in my childhood too, and have had similar ones at intervals since. It's a blip, as we have blipped before. Climate change may well be real, but that has happened before too. We may be speeding it up, we may not be. I don't feel I've read enough scientific opinion to discount it in the face of alternative evidence, but I don't mind people attempting to cut down on pollution in its name - if it's a real and not just a feelgood attempt. (Hybrid cars are feelgoods - they take much more energy to build!)

However, to blame every temperature peak on global warming is ridiculous, especially in this country where the evidence of normal fluctuations and peaks is well documented.

I feel sorry for the children, who are basically told that their parents and grandparents stuffed things up for them and now they're doomed to live their lives in the shadow of this nebulous threat. Talk about a loss of innocence.

I keep my mind open and my feet on the ground. Meanwhile, we deal with reality. Look on my blog Koos - not the result of global warming - just an unforgiving land, a set of circumstances and a few evil people.

Enjoy your cold temperatures!

...I'd buy you love.

Oh and Yes! Sheeple... of course.

Living in a Nordic country I must admit that I sometimes find it a bit amusing how unusually heavy snow causes a crisis in many places of the U.S., in the UK etc. Schools close, public transport stops. But it's understandable if people aren't used to it.

As for the Global Warming thing, I rather like the way Stephen Fry looks at this:

Even if you don't believe that the Global Warming thing is a reality, you lose nothing by going along with the things that are supposed to stop it. If it really IS happening, you save the planet. If it ISN'T, well, you can go on living like before but you've gained a cleaner planet, because that's what many of those measures also cause - and that surely makes things more comfortable for people as well. If on the other hand Global Warming IS a reality and you DON'T do anything about it, you're screwed up.

Looking back I see a reply to Maria that's much too long.

Just a question: would you respect someone who threatens their child, using the boogyman, in order to get them to tigy up their room?
In other words: does the end (a cleaner earth) justify the means? I wonder.

Oh-oh: the boogyman might exist. Really?

Zeer zeker. Van harte welkom.

Laughing at Dale's little replies, it has dawned on me that some of you outside Canada probably have no idea that this is a parody of a Barenaked Ladies song called If I Had a Million Dollars.

Come to think of it, the original song was pretty jokesy, if that's even a word.

Dale, I'd buy a real green dress (that's also cruel). The audience used to throw Kraft dinner and green dresses during live shows... ah, memories.

I'm the kind of guy who enjoys to seek fresh things. Presently I am constructing my personalized photovoltaic panels. I am doing it all alone without the assistance of my staff. I'm utilizing the net as the only way to acheive this. I came across a really amazing site that explains how to contruct photovoltaic panels and wind generators. The website explains all the steps required to solar panel construction.

I'm not sure bout how precise the info given there iz. If some experts over here who had experience with these works can have a peak and give your feedback in the thread it would be great and I would highly appreciate it, cause I extremely passion solar panel construction.

Thanks for reading this. U guys are great.
