Now is 29th of March, 10.30h

At this hour exactly it has been a year since I gave up smoking.

Come to think of it, it's been a year since I had to go to hospital urgently for treatment of a heart infarction. Any connection between these events? Then try this one.

Recently my notary told me that on that same 29th of March 2005 the divorce between the mother of my children and myself came into effect.

Hi Koos, What a coincidence, last year march 30, don't know the time, I took my last cigarette.
So you are one day ahead. How does it make you feel?
I also went to hospital with a bad pneumonia at the time. When I was released 12 days later I thought it wouldn't be a good idea to start smoking again. So everything turned out fine.

I do believe there is a connection! : ) Great job! That is fantastic. You feel a ton better now, don't you?

Glad you are healthy and happy!

Hi Koos,
Happy anniversary and congrats on achieving this goal. I quit smoking on January 2nd, 1986, so it's a distant memory, but I'll bet you feel so much better these days as a result. It was the hardest thing I ever did, but the most rewarding.

Cheers,
AM

Hi Koos

Today is my sister's 45th birthday!

Congratulations for quitting smoking for over a year now!
My husband quit about 12 years ago & has never looked back. He says it was the best decision he ever made. And me... well, I never smoked, thank goodness.

I hope your heart has been healthy since, Koos.

Maybe there is a connection, or just coincidence.
We only have so many days in a year, so it's a 365:1 chance that it will happen on the same day!

How's that for scientific vs phylosophical...

Love
Dale

Whatever the reasons, congratulations, Koos.

Hi Koos,

Obviously, this isn't your day! Well, except for the stopping smoking thing - a good point forsure - congrats on the anniversary! Things happen like that, don't they? All on the same day or the same day each month? I have a thing with Tuesdays and April - weird things seem to happen to me on Tuesdays and in April. *L* Maybe I'm just paranoid...!

Koos Im so proud of you. That is my only vice now. I dont drink no more drugs (did way too much) and I picked up smoking 2 years ago and thinking of quiting. Great job If you have any good ideas about quitting tell me

Beautiful parallel, Erik-Jan. Just one day later! and Val one day after that.
A pneumonia is a good motivator to quit, I imagine.
Must say it is a relief not to be caught in that viscious circle any more. The yearning for a smoke is now down to a few seconds every other day or less.
People say I have never looked better, but I'd like to get rid of a few pounds that sit where a flat belly used to be.

Never been so happy as in this period, especially the last few months, after the Basement Jam.

Thanks and congratulations for you too, Anne-Marie. Twenty years, beautiful.
The hardest thing and then when you look back...

Clever Dale
You use my way of reasoning, so now it is my turn to suggest that it was meant to be ;-)

Thanks for the congratulations, James!

Mary Beth, as the saying goes, being paranoid does not mean you are not being followed.
April? Both Waco and Oklahoma City happened on April the 19th.

Hi Michael,
I don't have much experience in the quitting field, but I was always convinced that a few days of confinement, voluntary or involuntary, could help me break the smoke spell. And it did.
I'm so glad to hear you left the real dangerous stuff behind you. Now I don't know what more to say about smoking - or I do, but that would exceed the space and time of this blog.
Would be fun to see a Dutch barge in Cape Coral!

Love
Koos
PS
If I don't get around to blogging tomorrow, I'll be off to South Africa with VallyP, so see you all around April 10th.
